Interview with Jon, Sabrina, Ronchie Boy, Gary, Lance, Seth, Liz, Nate, Duane and Aaron
JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)? Jon: county blues, I was able to keep my white shirt
socks and underwear Sabrina: these blue jumpsuit things Ronchie Boy: two piece blues Gary: 3 pairs of white socks and 3 pairs of white t
shirts no writing on them Lance: Whatever you had on you at the time of your
arrest... unless the judge was a decent person
and let you set a committment date.. so you
could prepare... then you can bring like 3
shirts, 3 underwear, 2 socks etc.... Seth: the only thing you get to keep at snohomish county
jail is your socks, wife beater, long johns,
thermals, and t shirts because it is so cold. Liz: underwear,t shirts and panties , socks, long
johns, and a bra as long as it didn't have an
under-wire. Nate: I went to jail they would have to all the white if your turn
yourself in your own all have to be all white all white long
sleeve white t shirts anything white. Duane: if you had 2 tee shirts you could wear them in.
other wise it was commisary Aaron: I brought new plain white t-shirts, underwear and
socks when I committed in. You can buy more on
commissary. You are only suppose to have a total
of 3 but I had 5, would rotate them through the
laundry so if my items were searched it only
looked like I had 3. I saved one set for when I
checked out so I would have brand new items. Gave
the rest away. White Tshirts are the most
popular.
JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you. Jon: yes. its a blue vest thing and blue pants. no
pockets Sabrina: yes the blue jumpsuit Ronchie Boy: two piece blues kinda like cheap looking scrubs. Gary: a blue worn out v top and a blue worn out pants
with jail issused flip flops that never fit
right or were allways cracked and broken Lance: you got a green striped shirt.. and green
pants... thats all... Seth: the set uniform was green pants with a white shirt
with the green horizontal stripes. the trustees got
to red just the all red uniforms. Liz: surgical type scrubs, top and bottom. different
colors for different custody levels.the pants had
elastic waists without a draw string.they were may
that were ripped or the elastic was shot that
nobody wanted. Nate: when I was there it was a regular population green and white
uh trustees they had a solid red that was it for clothing . Duane: we had pink sandals for showers and general use.
the tops and bottoms were blue kind of like
pajamas. we changed out twice a week. Aaron: All Red Scrubs for Trustee. I was lucky enough to
wear them upon my release (didn't have to change in
to general pop greens) before I changed in to my
street clothes.
JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned? Jon: no Sabrina: oh god yes a shirt! socks...anything Ronchie Boy: only ones I saw were blue, red, and black and
white stripes Gary: the flip flops and over sized clothing were all
ways in demand Lance: No.. they all look the same... but i noticed
some of the inmates liked the newer green
pants... because they were brighter.. but thats
just being stupid in my opinion... Seth: no there was because all the clothes were the same.
if you are ordering from commissary you definitely
want your socks and t shirts. thermals dont matter
if you have those. Liz: getting ones that had been washed enough times
were they were softer than the new stiff ones that
fit reasonably well . Nate: there is nothing special about wearing any of the county cloths
I can tell ya very uncomfortable. Duane: nothing like that. all the same here. lucky to
get the right size Aaron: Scrub tops with pockets
JM: Was the clothing different between men and women? Jon: womans shirts arnt supposed to be v-neck Sabrina: never saw any men they were upsatirs Ronchie Boy: i don't remember Gary: no not at all ! Lance: No...why would it be? Seth: honestly there is no difference except one wears
bras and panties and the other doesnt. Liz: the only difference that i saw was the men had the
color red if they were allowed to work outside of
there pods. women weren't allowed to work outside
of there pods. Nate: No both the same. . Duane: I don't know. we were not together Aaron: not sure
